Alec is a strong proponent of fatherhood.  He recognizes the plight of America due to the lack of fathers in the home.  The importance of fathers is downplayed, and America is paying the price.  Crime and immorality are symptoms of the problem.

Alec is honest with his troublesome past, including his addiction to alcolhol for serveral years.
